Simple enough, or is it? Week three's assignment was simply a still life with a flower but not just a bunch of flowers. Including a flower is not much of a constraint and leaves me working largely in a vacuum so my first though in narrowing down what I was making was to decide on doing it as a product shot. I'm rarely in this much of a vacuum for advertising work but by choosing to represent something (other than the flower) I was a big step ahead than if I'd decided to go for Fine Art. Exactly what it looks like, hotel toiletries set; everything made has to be marketed before it can be sold, on its own or as part of a bigger product or service and making the right image(s) for that marketing is why I do what I do.
